Star Crest Recipient (SCR) Ceremony!
JOS (Jumpers Over Seventy) and JFTR (Jump For The Rose) will host an SCR ceremony the evening of Oct 17. If you’ve earned your SCR, but haven’t made it official by participating in the legendary SCR ceremony, this is your chance! For more information and history about the Star Crest Recipient award, check out the ceremony. It is recommended that you bring a case of beer that you don’t mind pouring on someone as that is how you are most likely to dispose of the beer! The festivities will take place after jumping has ended. Hint…BRING A TOWEL…The RAFFLE!
You could win a custom made SABRE3 canopy from Performance Designs! We also have gift certificates from:
We are also going to have some awesome free fly organizers, belly fly organizers and videographers. More to come on that soon…Stay tuned!
Jumpers Over Seventy will be going for another JOS world record again this year!
This from Joseph Taylor:
Jump for the Rose Pinkfest Boogie is planning their annual event at Skydive Spaceland Rosharon (Houston) so we can try for a new JOS big-way record October 16-18, 2020, and support them at the same time. Start checking your calendars to see if you can be here. We have a simple 26-way that can easily add some whacker pairs to get to 30-way or more. Basically a 6-way center with 12 on their legs and 4 whacker pairs. If we get enough response we can use the winning 50-way design from Russ Manhold’s and Mike Britting’s current contest!
The registration fee is $100.00, pay as you go for jumps, some kind of party Saturday night at the DZ, divvy up a videographer fee, etc. Oxygen is available if we get enough response to warrant the higher altitude. If we really get over 40 folks it will probably be a 3 otter formation. Come as early as you can, with practice starting around Wed and record jumps on Sat-Sun. We’ll go for 4 jumps Sat and 4 Sun (if necessary) with release Sun evening. Please send in your info (numbers, etc) as soon as you can so we can start letting people know what size of record we might achieve (as we see how the pandemic progresses).
We’ll finalize a formation with what we have on Sept 30, 2020.
