    JUMP for the ROSE PINKFEST BOOGIE 2020

    On Oct 17 at 9 AM – Oct 18 at 4 PM CDT we are hosting our annual funding raising PINKFEST BOOGIE  at Skydive Spaceland Houston in Rosharon, TX.  Of course, because of Covid-19 we will be using all recommended safety precautions. The event is open to the public. Visitors can enjoy watching us skydive and some may even want to try their first tandem skydive!!       I wanted to share this wonderful Thank-You note from The Rose. I can not thank each and everyone of you enough for your support and generosity.     10th Annual Check Presentation: The Rose

    Jump For The Rose made it’s 10th annual check presentation to The Rose at their Christmas party on December 18, 2019. The donation this year was $15,000.00 for a grand total of $243,000.00 raised to date! 120 plus employees attended and got to hear first hand Marian’s story of how Jump For The Rose started. JFTR Board members Ginger Snowden, Gwen Murillo, and Marian’s “Bestie” Barbara McGraw were there, as well.     Jump For The Rose 10th Annual Pinkfest Boogie This year, Jump For The Rose Pinkfest Boogie at Skydive Spaceland Houston was joined by Parachutists over phorty! James Guido Davis organized the POPS Nationals event. Joseph L. Taylor and the Jumpers Over Seventy (JOS) knocked out a World Record, and Michael Swearingen brought his flock of wingsuiters to make a beautiful pink ribbon in the sky! The first link is an in-depth guide about navigating the financial shoals of treating cancer. The guide helps patients understand how to protect themselves financially.     A DAY IN AUSTIN: CPRIT LOBBYING

    My day in Austin at the capitol lobbying for CPRIT was a new experience for me. I’ve never done that sort of work before. It was tiring and exhilarating all at the same time. Kind of like skydiving!      CPRIT stands for Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas. Back in 2007 it was a proposition voted into being by the people of Texas to provide 3 BILLION dollars over a period of 10 years to fund cancer research and prevention.
